Ryan Lohrenz was responsible for the design and development of the current SMD-DA Applicator and Source. He brings 10 years of management, engineering, and medical product design and development experience to SalutarisMD®. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Ryan began his engineering career at Bioptics (presently Faxitron X-Ray) where he was responsible for the mechanical design of various in-house technologies. Ryan then transitioned into the role of project manager for two complete new device designs, from initial concepts through the 510(k) process and CE Marking.
Ryan’s experience also includes 2 and 1/2 years of engineering management with General Plasma, managing the engineering staff as well as many multi-million dollar projects in the vacuum coating industry with major product installations in Japan, China, South Korea, Europe and the United States.
Most recently, Ryan was a design engineer for Lasertel, developing laser diode products that ranged from medical to military to consumer products. He was responsible for project management, design, finite element analysis, tooling, project schedule, budget, build, and testing of products in an ISO 9001 environment.
